Every Campervan.Win competition can be entered for free by post. No purchase is necessary. Postal entries carry the same weight as paid entries in our independently verified prize draws.
This page explains exactly how to submit a free postal entry, the format rules, what to include, where to send it, and how we process it. Please read it in full before sending an entry. Entries that don't follow the rules below cannot be processed.
How it works
UK competition law requires that prize competitions offer a free entry route. At Campervan.Win, we take this seriously. Every postal entry that meets the requirements below is added to the draw alongside paid entries with no difference in how they are treated.
Each valid postal entry receives one entry into the competition you specify. The same ticket pool is used for both paid and postal entries. Once allocated, a postal entry is indistinguishable from a paid one in the draw, including the published audit trail.
Two steps: online form, then by post
To make sure your envelope reaches us with everything we need, the free postal entry process now has two parts:
- Online: fill in the request form with your details, the competition you want to enter, and your answer to that competition's skill question. You'll receive a unique reference number on screen.
- By post: print the pre-filled entry sheet shown after the form, sign and date it by hand in blue or black ink, and post it to our Bath address with the reference number on the back of the envelope.
Both steps are required. The online form takes about two minutes; the postal step is what makes this a postal entry rather than an online one.
Per-person caps
To keep the draws fair and prevent abuse of the free route:
- One postal entry per person per competition. We treat name and address together as identity. Duplicate envelopes from the same identity for the same competition will be rejected after the first valid one.
- Five total entries per person per competition, paid + postal combined. The same per-person ticket cap applies regardless of route. If you've already purchased five paid tickets in a draw, your postal entry for that draw will be rejected on the same cap.
Different competitions are independent. You may submit one postal entry per competition you wish to enter, subject to the five-per-person cap on that competition.
Format rules
Your entry must meet all of the following format rules to be accepted. These rules exist so we can verify entries fairly and keep the audit trail clean. They apply to every postal entry without exception.
- Handwritten by you, in blue or black ink only. Typed or printed entries cannot be processed. Pencil, gel pens in other colours, and erasable inks are not accepted.
- English only, block capitals throughout. Cursive handwriting and other languages cannot be processed.
- One competition per envelope. Envelopes containing entries for more than one competition are rejected in their entirety.
- One envelope per person per competition. Multiple envelopes from the same name and address for the same competition will only be processed once.
- Postmark must be clear and dated before the competition's closing date. Illegible or missing postmarks are grounds for rejection.
- Your reference number must be written on the back of the envelope, prefixed with
REF. For example:REF AB3CD4E5. We use the reference to match the envelope to your online request.
What's on the entry sheet
The online request form generates a pre-filled entry sheet containing all six of the following items. You then print it, sign and date it by hand, and write your name again on the audit-log line. We don't accept entries on any other format.
- Your full name
- Your date of birth
- Your full postal address, including postcode
- Your email address
- The name of the competition you are entering
- Your answer to that competition's skill question
You must also have accepted all five of the following declarations on the online form. They are reproduced on the printed entry sheet, and your hand-written signature confirms them all:
- I am 18 years of age or older.
- I am a resident of the United Kingdom.
- I have not already entered this competition by any other means, paid or postal.
- The information I have provided is true and complete.
- I have read the free postal entry rules at campervan.win/postal-entry.
We will not guess, correct, or fill in missing items on your behalf. The rules apply uniformly to every entrant to keep the draw fair.
Where to send your entry
Post your entry to:
Campervan.Win Postal Entry
Analogue Media Trinity Church 14A Queen Square Bath, BA1 2HN United Kingdom
Please make sure you use the correct postage. We cannot accept entries where postage is due on delivery. Entries sent by recorded or tracked delivery are accepted but not required.
When to send it
Your postal entry must arrive at the address above before the closing date of the competition. We recommend posting at least 7 working days before the closing date to allow for Royal Mail delivery times. Entries that arrive after the competition has closed cannot be included, regardless of postmark date.
Competition closing dates are clearly shown on each competition page on the website. Closing dates are also subject to the draw selling out earlier. If a competition sells out before its scheduled closing date, the draw runs immediately and postal entries arriving after that point cannot be included.
How postal entries are processed
We process postal entries in weekly batches, typically every Friday afternoon. When your entry arrives we:
- Match the envelope's reference number to your online request and log the date received plus the postmark date.
- Verify the printed entry sheet is signed and dated, and that you've written your name again on the audit-log line.
- Check that your skill-question answer matches the published answer for the competition you specified.
- Confirm you have not already used your one postal entry for that competition, and that the five-per-person paid+postal cap hasn't been reached.
- Allocate your ticket using the same ticket-numbering system that paid entries use.
You will not receive a confirmation by post. If you included an email address, we may send a confirmation email once your entry has been processed. If we do not contact you, please do not assume your entry has been received: allow a full week from your posting date before getting in touch.
When entries are rejected
For fairness and transparency, we publish the full list of reasons your entry may be rejected. The reason is recorded on your entry and is available on request.
- skill_wrong: your submitted answer does not match the published correct answer for the competition you specified.
- illegible: the signature, date, or audit-log name on your printed sheet cannot be read clearly.
- missing_required_fields: the printed sheet is missing a signature, a date, or the audit-log name. We don't reconstruct these from the online submission.
- arrived_after_close: the envelope arrived after the competition's closing date or after the competition sold out.
- duplicate_in_envelope: the envelope contained entries for more than one competition, or more than one entry for the same competition.
- no_reference_number: the envelope's reference number is missing or doesn't match any current online request.
- cap_reached: you have already reached the five-per-person ticket cap for this competition via paid entries.
We never reject an entry on subjective grounds. If your entry is rejected, the reason will always be one of the categories above.
Our audit commitment
Every postal entry, whether accepted or rejected, is recorded permanently in our admin system with the date received, the action taken, the admin who handled it, and the reason for any rejection. We keep this record for at least the lifetime of the competition plus 12 months. If you believe your entry was wrongly rejected, email policies@campervan.win with the postmark date and your name, and we will look up the record.
We do not, and cannot, edit this record after the fact. The system records every change.
